I had been thinking about putting together a tech-blog as an incentive to explore thoughts on various topics. Because committing to writing about something forces me to research it and weigh my thoughts and opinions.
This has now been set up using Jekyll but originally the plan was a little bigger. The plan was to set up a simple CRUD API, small postgres database and a react maybe with redux. Shouldn’t be too much work since I’m familiar with all the technology. I would be able to write about the whole process, and if I never finish it I just didn’t have the dedication to follow through.
Well, that didn’t quite work. Part of it was definitely over engineering but an important component was also the fear of putting myself out there. That realization made it clear that it is important to.
Back to basics
So back to the agile principles. What are the easiest ways to get it done? That would probably wordpress or a similair service. The next step up is probably doing it through Jekyll on github.
The latter just feels more fun and future proof, so since you’re reading this I’ve made it through! Maybe one day this will grow to something that warrants something tailor made.
Welcome to my blog, Ferdy
